As a young child Garner took ballet lessons, she started at three years old and continued till much later. However, she did realize that she did not want to be a dancer.
Garner was raised in a conservative household and went to church every Sunday. After graduating from ‘George Washington High School,’ she went on to study drama at ‘Denison University.’ She also trained at ‘National Theater Institute’ in ‘Eugene O’Neill Theater Center.’ In 1994, she graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in theater performance.
She started her acting career but perhaps her first notable role was in 2000, when she played a supporting role in ‘Pearl Harbor.’ But her career really took off in 2001 when J. J. Abrams asked Garner to play the role of ‘Sydney Bristow’ in his spy drama series ‘Alias.’ The show was a hit and propelled Garner into the mainstream.
In 2003, she played ‘Elektra Natchios,’ in the movie “Daredevil,” alongside Ben Affleck. But her true Hollywood movie-star success came from her movie ‘13 Going on 30’ in 2004, which cemented her status as a Hollywood A-lister.

While her professional life flourished, her personal life was a little rocky. In 2000, Garner had married fellow actor Scott Foley. She met him on the sets of the television show, “Felicity.” However, the pair divorced in just 3 short years claiming irreconcilable differences.
A year after her divorce, Garner started dating her “Daredevil” co-star, Ben Affleck. During the time “Daredevil” was filmed, Affleck was in a relationship with singer Jennifer Lopez while Garner was married to Scott Foley.
In later years, Affleck would talk about how he had met Garner on ‘pearl Harbour’ but the couple had fallen in love while working together in “Daredevil.”
In 2005, Affleck and Garner married in a private ceremony in the Caribbean. The couple’s union lasted almost a decade and produced their three children, Violet Anne Affleck, Seraphina Rose Elizabeth Affleck, and Samuel Garner Affleck.
In 2014, the first public acknowledgment that not everything was rosy in their marriage came to light when Garner gave an interview to InStyle magazine. The actress revealed that the couple’s marriage was no longer in the “courtship” but in a more “mindful” phase, and that she was fine with this change.
“You can’t expect to be courted all the time, and I don’t want to court him right now – I don’t have the energy! But we’re definitely in a very mindful place where we’re making an effort to be together, do things at the same time, and be loving,” the actress said.
The couple announced their separation in 2015. They began official legal proceedings to seek joint physical custody of their children in 2017 and finalized their divorce in 2018.
There were rumors that Ben had cheated on Jennifer Garner with the children’s nanny Christine Ouzounian, but representatives for Affleck vehemently denied rumors of any such thing happening.
After the couple split, Affleck landed himself in hot water again due to some comments he made on Howard Stern’s podcast. But the actor went on Jimmy Kimmel’s show and cleared the air saying his comments were taken out of context and he never felt “trapped” in his marriage or blamed Garner for his problem with alcohol. He said, “I would never want my kids to think that I would ever say a bad word about their mom. It hurts my feelings, man.”
After the couple’s high profile divorce, Ben Affleck would often land himself in hot water and make news headlines. While Garner has remained pretty much under the radar as far as news about her personal life go.
Affleck rekindled his decades-old romance with Jennifer Lopez and married the singer this year.
Once news of their high-profile marriage broke, people began to speculate about Garner’s love life and whether she was single and how she was handling her ex-husband’s marriage.
However, Garner is not single and has not been for a while. The actress has been dating John Miller about six months before her divorce had been finalized, according to some sources.
Garner or Miller have never publicly acknowledged their relationship but have been seen around town together. The first time the couple was seen together in public was when they attended the musical “Dear Evan Hansen” in Los Angeles.
Their relationship is incredibly private and their second outing was months later in a restaurant in Santa Monica in February 2019. After this period, they reportedly broke up for a while. However, it was reported that in May 2021, the couple rekindled their relationship after they were spotted together in New York City in August of the same year.
